Revision of the EN 303 687 harmonised standard covering the Wi-Fi 6 GHz band in the EU. Clarifications on test methods for 320 MHz channels and Wi-Fi 7 MLO; persistent divergence from FCC rules which authorise a Standard Power mode (36 dBm + AFC) absent in Europe.

Activation of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/30, sub-articles 3.3(d), 3.3(e) and 3.3(f) of the RED Directive become mandatory for any connected radio product placed on the European market. Harmonised standards EN 18031-1/2/3 provide the presumption of conformity.

Implementation of Directive (EU) 2022/2380, smartphones, tablets, headphones and other portable electronic products sold in the EU must now use a USB-C charging port. Laptops follow on 28 April 2026.

Publication of the three harmonised standards covering RED 3.3 requirements: EN 18031-1 (network protection), EN 18031-2 (personal data), EN 18031-3 (fraud). These standards unlock the presumption of conformity that was missing since the adoption of Delegated Regulation 2022/30.
